And Let There Be Wine!

The Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association (UVWA) will present the 41st annual Greatest of the Grape on March 5 at Seven Feathers Casino Resort & Spa in Canyonville.

“It’s an elegant evening of great wine, food and dancing to the music of local band, Bullit,” said Charlie Becker, UVWA president. “Guests can spin the ‘wheel of wine’ and perhaps take home a premier bottle — plus find the perfect memento from among fabulous items in the silent auction or the many artists’ booths.”

This year’s event will feature 28 Umpqua Valley and Southern Oregon wineries paired with culinary creations from 14 of the region’s best restaurants. Accompanying the celebration is a wine competition, in which wine experts professionally judged entries prior to the event. Winners will be announced that evening.

Guests are encouraged to sample wines and vote for their favorites and the best wine/food pairing in the People’s Choice Award category.
