Counter Culture: A Celebration of Urban Street Food and International Wines
Anne Amie Vineyards (Carlton) kicked off the International Pinot Noir Celebration July 22 at the winery's pre-IPNC event Counter Culture: A Celebration of Urban Street Food and International Wines. The iconic summer fete was set atop the wildly verdant estate vineyards. Guests early to arrive took advantage of idyllic hammocks, soaking up the early evening glow and the sweeping view of the Pacific Coast Range.
The tableau vivant was a mix of stylishly sundress-clad women, hot city chefs in sunglasses and winsome winemakers pouring magnificent wines. Guests mingled with DJ Atom 13, took advantage of the free photo booth and, most importantly, indulged in world-inspired cuisine from a selection of the best restaurants and food carts in Portland paired with wines from Oregon, California, Italy, Canada and New Zealand. As the sun set, guests gathered to witness the grand finale: fire dancers. —Kerry Newberry
