Vineyard Nutrition and Irrigation Management
This course introduces the basic principles of soil science, with an emphasis on grapevine mineral nutrition and the relationship between water and soils. It also covers methods of soil conservation and strategies for soil improvement. The course focuses on understanding soil profiles, soil formation and structure, and how nutrients become available to and are used by plants. It covers planning mineral nutrition and irrigation for a vineyard and diagnosing nutritional problems in grapevines. Classes run on Wednesdays from April 1 through June 10.
