Korkage Winemaker's Dinner Series: Owen Roe

SW Portland Wine Bar Korkage Launches Winemaker’s Dinner SeriesStandout Local Wineries Owen Roe and Robert Ramsey selected Portland, OR., May 22, 2013 – Korkage, a popular Southwest neighborhood restaurant and wine shop is hosting a series of Winemaker dinners, starting with two of their favorite NW wine makers, Owen Roe and Robert Ramsey wines. These events are not your typical sit-down dinner affairs. They are designed to make the wine and food approachable and fun. The inaugural dinner will be on Feburary 23, the last Sunday of the month. It will feature the highly sought after, highly rated, limited production Owen Roe Wines. Owen Roe's vineyards span the Willamette, Mid-Columbia, Yakima and Walla Walla valleys. “Chef Earl’ s got an amazing plate and he can speak on any wine in his great selection of bottles. I’ve experienced first-hand his masterful pairings with difficult foods like artichokes, and it is going to be a lot of fun to see how he pairs up our wines in his new kitchen.” Says Garret Plocher from Owen Roe Wines. The second dinner in the series will feature Robert Ramsay Cellars, with winemaker/owner Bob Harris. "Bob makes some stunning, layered old world style rhone wines" says Korkage Chef Earl Johnson. Robert Ramsay is a boutique winery located in the heart of the Woodinville Warehouse District that has been creating small lots of unique award winning wines since 2005. This dinner will be the last Sunday in March, March 30th. Each wine in the lineup will be paired up with a specially prepared small plate course. Korkage Chef Earl Johnson, classically trained in French and Italian cuisine, believes food and wine are always better together, as evidenced by his popular weekly paired flight. Korkage co-owner Tamairah Boleyn says "Our winemakers dinners will be in the spirit and style of Korkage, nothing stuffy here. Just a friendly, casual NW experience sharing quality food and wines we love, and extending great buys to our customers."Dinners will be $65 per ticket with a discount for both events.
