Johan Vineyards Wine School
Saturday August 24th, viticulturist Dan Rinke and owner Dag Johan Sundby, will host a crash course in biodynamic grape growing and natural winemaking at Johan Vineyards. The course will last for about three hours, which includes a ‘library’ tasting at the end of the class. Library tasting will include 5 different vintages of Johan wines. Topics: 1) Vineyard – pruning, shoot thinning, leaf removal, floor & canopy management, biodynamic preparations and application. 2) Winery – harvest decisions, de-stemmed vs. whole cluster fermentation, native ferments, pressing, use of oak vs. stainless steel, aging
