Beaujolais & Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Tasting

It's Beaujolais Nouveau time of year again! So tonight's tasting will feature one or two Nouveaus compared against a couple of other wines from the Beaujolais area within the southern part of France's Burgundy region. Beaujolais focuses on the Gamay grape and makes red wines with intense color, a fresh fruity flavor and low tannins. The Beaujolais Nouveau wines are in a special category of 7 to 9 week old wine that is released on the third Thursday of November (today!) -- essentially a big harvest party!
