Iron Chef Crowned

There is a new king of the kitchen in Oregon and his name is Gabriel Gil of Rabbit Bistro in Eugene. During The Bite of Oregon, Aug. 6 and 7, Gil went cleaver to cleaver against some of the best local chefs in the fifth annual Iron Chef Oregon competition.

This year’s Iron Chef Oregon included Franco Console of Omar’s Restaurant in Ashland, Roscoe Roberson from Kokanee Café near Sisters and Chris Thompson of iorino’s Restaurant in Portland. The final round featured Roberson vs. Gil for the title.

Gil is known for integrating his unique perspective on cuisine by creating classic French bistro fare with a modern twist.
