Newberg wineries Trisaetum, Colene Clemens and Whistling Ridge have joined forces to give local schools a boost. During the second weekend in February, all three will donate 100 percent of tasting fees to the Yamhill-Carlton Education Foundation.

The new event, called Trio of Vino, will take place Feb. 12 and 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tasters will have a chance to sample a total of 13 wines for $20.

For less travel on gravel, organizers say, “make Whistling Ridge the second vineyard you visit, and start with Colene Clemens or Trisaetum.”

The Yamhill-Carlton Education Foundation raises and distributes funds to support, promote and increase the quality of public education in the Yamhill-Carlton School District.
