2011 Best Fests Preview
Here at the Oregon Wine Press, we know how fast the year can fly by; so we decided to give you a heads-up on the biggest Oregon wine events of 2011.
With live music, amazing food, world-class wine and worthy charities, the following events promise good times and lasting memories.
The calendar begins with two events at the end of January.
Oregon Wine, Food & Brew Festival, Jan. 28–29, will feature dozens of Oregon wineries, food, art and main stage entertainment at the Jackman-Long building at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem.
This year’s music line-up includes the Ted Vaughn Blues Band, the Mathew Price Band, Blind Rhino, jazz pianist Brady Goss, the Bourbon Street Jazz Band and more. Plus, the festival will bring back its popular wine competition — this year produced by the Oregon Wine Press. Winners will be announced at the festival.
Oregon Truffle Festival, Jan. 28–30, will entertain guests with workshops, dog-training seminars, cooking classes, a truffle marketplace and the Grand Truffle Dinner prepared by notable chefs. Located at the Valley River Inn, this event is the first of its kind in North America.
Both festivals guarantee your palate’s inspired with gourmet grub and local wine.
