Compassion and Crayons

Dobbes Family Estate continues its philanthropy with its Charitable Giving Program. Each quarter, a different employee selects a cause that has special meaning to him or her. During that quarter, the Dundee winery features a wine and donates 10 percent of its sales to the chosen charity.

This quarter, newly promoted assistant winemaker Andy McVay has chosen nonprofit Schoolhouse Supplies and the corresponding wine is the 2009 Grenache Blanc.

Founded in 1999, Schoolhouse Supplies supports public education in Portland by giving students and teachers free classroom supplies. Today, they are a nationally recognized leader in the Free Store movement, which creates direct links between students and members of the community.
