Main Course Returns

July 10, guests can choose between a wine tasting with appetizers or an exciting multi-course dinner paired with local wines. Both the tasting and the dinner will be served under the stars on historic Main Street. 

As in previous years, each dinner course will be designed around local wines and fresh local ingredients. Wine tasting, bottle sales and appetizers will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m., while the dinner segment begins at 7 p.m. Local music will play through the wine tasting and dinner.

The Main Course will feature local wineries A Blooming Hill, ArborBrook, ADEA, Apolloni, David Hill, Elk Cove, Kramer Vineyard, Montinore Estate, Oak Knoll Winery, Patton Valley, Plum Hill, Purple Cow Vineyards, SakéOne and Tre Nova.

The tasting will be a casual affair, allowing participants to talk with winery staff, including some winemakers and owners, many of whom will stay for dinner.

Stecchino, Main Street's newest restaurant, will prepare the four-course dinner. Founder Christian Geffrard, a figure in the Portland restaurant scene since 1990, established Le Canelet, La Ficelle, Café Ole, Le Bouchon and Casanis. 

Stecchino's chef, Mark Cuneo - he spent five years at the famed Fratelli - has a 20-year résumé in cooking with a strong background in Italian cuisine, which stems from his father's (Oregon winemaker Gino Cuneo) side of the family. Stecchino features fresh local products and made-from-scratch Mediterranean-style dishes in a bistro ambiance.
