Sidereus Vineyard & Winery: heavenly, divine, starry

Sidereus Vineyard and Winery is built on a hillside outside Hillsboro, Oregon in the Tualatin Valley with beautiful views of Mt. Hood. The winery is part of the Willamette Valley within the Laurelwood District of the Chehalem Mountains AVA. Most of the vineyard’s history was founded with grape vines planted more than 25 years ago, previously at A Blooming Hill Vineyard and Winery, which was sold to Ruth and Skip Tarr in 2020. When the Tarrs came upon the opportunity to purchase the property, the place evoked a feeling of ‘heaven,’ leading to the name of Sidereus, a Latin word which means heavenly, divine, and starry. In 2022, USA Today named Sidereus one of the "Top 10 New Wineries" in the U.S.

Our Wines

Guided by the philosophy that “great wine comes from great fruit,” Sidereus winery utilizes minimal intervention to create wines rich in flavor with depth and balance, and are a true representation of the fruit, land, soil and season. With elegant yet approachable wines, we provide a wide array of varietals from delicate whites to expressive pinot noirs, and bold reds.

Visit our Living-room Style Tasting House with Views of Mt. Hood

Nestled between the Cascade Mountains and Pacific Coast Ranges, you’ll be comfortable in our specially-designed living room, our dog-friendly deck, in lounge chairs on our lawn, or our downstairs cellar lounge—with views overlooking Mt. Hood. Weekends we may have live music, trivia, or other special events. Reservations are recommended, although walk-ins are welcome. Charcuterie, hummus and small bite options are available. Feel free to bring your own picnic/snacks. We are open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Our address is: 5195 SW Hergert Rd, Cornelius, OR 97113.

A few other major recent awards received: 

• Three Cellar Star Awards 2026: Best Customer Service, Most Creative Wine Club, and Best Overall Tasting Experience. 
• 16^th annual Savor Northwest Wine Awards 2026 gave five top awards, placing Sidereus among only six wineries in the Pacific Northwest to receive the prestigious Excellence in Winemaking Award, along with Wine of the Year/Best of Class 97 points for its 2022 Bull’s Blend, 96 points for 2023 La Colina Pinot Noir, and 96 points Double Gold for 2024 Pinot Gris.
• Paul Gregutt’s NW Wine Guide: 93 points for 2023 Winemakers Cuvée Pinot Noir and 2024 Rosé of Pinot Noir, 92 points for 2023 Tempranillo and 2023 La Colina Pinot Noir, 91 points for 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon.
• Sunset International Wine Competition 2026: 96 points for 2025 Roussanne.
