Each July, The Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg hosts the Willamette Valley Lavendar Festival. Here's how some local businesses celebrate:

Art with Elegance

Commemorate lavender flowers in a more permanent manner by painting a flower field on a vintage china plate. Cream Northwest

Beat the summer heat with a cool, flavorful, lavender-infused scoop of ice cream with a blueberry swirl or lavender lemonade sorbet. Why not preserve this year’s lavender blossoms by weaving them into a fragrant wreath? Join owner Kim Bellingar at her winery on Sunday, July 17 as she leads a lavender wreath-making class. Lemon and Olive

During lavender season, Newberg’s newest food cart is baking up fresh lemon-lavender olive oil cakes. Comprised of honey and citrus, each olive oil cake is topped with a sweet cream cheese lemon and lavender frosting. Located in The Bite, Newberg’s downtown food cart pod, Lemon and Olive also serves up fresh spanakopita, gyros, herbed egg & pita sandwiches and chocolate hazelnut baklava.

Coffee Cottage
808 E. Hancock Street, Newberg, OR

Start your morning with no ordinary cup of joe… one with house-infused lavender syrup added to a locally roasted brew. Pair it with a freshly baked lavender-rosemary scone surrounded by lavender flowers in their outdoor seating area. Sounds like a purple dream.
