Left Coast Café

This summer, Left Coast Cellars expanded their tasting room to include a café, and this fall, the menu continues to entice wine and food lovers alike.

Formerly of King Estate’s catering department, Carolynn Andringa is the in-house chef at Left Coast. She creates dishes that pair well with the winery’s handcrafted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. With access to the estate garden, Andringa has crafted savory menus since the café’s opening this summer.

The daily menu includes panini, homemade soups, pâté, flatbread pizzas, fresh hummus, cheese, antipasto plates, decadent desserts and Andringa’s signature savory pie — a rustic, egg-based cross between quiche and bread pudding.

Guests also can savor and purchase the winery’s first harvest of honey from the estate’s seven beehives.

“The bees have roamed from the grapes to clover, to the wild flowers and the garden,” said Andringa. “The flavor is delightful.”

Left Coast Tasting Room & Café, located in Rickreall, is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. — by appointment only Dec. 24 through Jan. 31. Reservations are not required, however groups of six or more should call ahead.
