Donation of Dialogues

Janis Miglavs, an Oregon wine writer and photographer, recently donated recorded interviews of 82 wine industry members to the Oregon Wine History Archive at Linfield College in McMinnville.

The recordings are a treasure chest of history. Interviewees told Miglavs that some of these stories had never been published before. Included in the discs are lucid conversations with Richard Sommer as he recounted his early struggles establishing his historic winery and David Lett, who revealed how his entrance at the French wine competitions really came about.

The recordings are filled with stories from other pioneers, including David Adelsheim, Myron Redford, Cal Knudsen, Dick Erath, Dick and Nancy Ponzi, Bill Blosser, Susan Sokol Blosser and Bill Fuller, as well as those who followed.

Once archived, recordings and transcriptions will be available to the public.
