AVA Modifies Name

The Yamhill-Carlton District AVA (American Viticultural Area) has been changed to Yamhill-Carlton.

“It was simply too long to fit on a number of producers’ labels,” said Ken Wright, the AVA’s marketing chair. “It took three years to be approved even though the membership was unanimously for it.”

Approved by the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau), the new name was published in the Federal Register on Nov. 3; approximately 30 days later, the name will officially go into effect.
