Heart to Heart
Heart of Willamette Wineries chairman Tom Johns, of Emerson Vineyards, recently announced the association will hold its inaugural Winery Barrel Tour on June 11 and July 9.
The tour will include a stop at four wineries, samples paired with local foods, transportation from Corvallis, tour-guided charter buses highlighting the area, the vineyards and wineries, and a souvenir wine glass.
“You will be able to talk to the winemakers, gain insights into their techniques and experience, and taste for yourself why we selected this part of the valley to practice our trade,” Johns said.
Heart of Willamette Wineries is comprised of 16 members within a 25-mile radius of Corvallis. The family-owned wineries and vineyards are committed to sustainable practices and produce a wide selection of wines, with production ranging from a few hundred to 25,000 cases.
Formerly known as Benton County Winery Association, Heart of Willamette Wineries better fits the location of its members, which comprise of Benton, Polk and Linn counties.
The cost for the tour is $60, and reservations are required and limited. To purchase tickets, visit www.howwbarreltour.com.
