Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon Registration Opens
By OWP Staff
Registration is now open for the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon – 13.1 miles -- Sept. 5, Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
The race will be limited to the first 2,000 people who register, according to Event Director Matt Dockstader.
The course begins at Stoller Vineyard, east of Lafayette, winds through Yamhill Valley’s wine country, and ends at the Tyrus Evan Wine Depot in downtown Carlton. The Carlton Business Association is planning a post-race wining and dining event for participants.
In addition to local wineries, News-Register in McMinnville, McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Oregon Sports Authority in Portland officials are helping plan the race.
Dockstader’s company will use local volunteers to help with preliminary plans and race day parking, shuttle busing, registration, course control and public safety. Race coordination and logistics will be handled by Oregon Sports Authority.
Race registration is $85 before May 1. Teams can register together at a discount. For more information or to register online, go to www.run4oregonwine.com.
