Taste for Tourists

Free Spirit Wines and the Windrose Conference Center in Newberg will offer interactive wine education classes for Willamette Valley visitors on May 25–26, during Memorial Day Weekend.

Six sessions over the two days will be offered under the “Willamette Valley Wine Essentials,” wine education program developed and presented by educator Mich Nelson of Free Spirit Wines. The program provides an overview of the region, its history, climate, soils, AVAs and varieties. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of technical wine tasting by sampling wines from local producers. 

Sessions begin at 9:30 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m. and are $30 per person. Windrose Conference Center is located at 809 W. First Street, Newberg. Reservations required online at www.freespiritwines.com.
