Wild About Game
Timberline Lodge will host this year’s Wild About Game and a winery dinner in conjunction with Nicky USA’s 12th annual signature meat-centric event.
Staged at Timberline’s Wy’East Annex, the daytime event offers attendees a culinary marketplace, including tasty samples from Nicky USA suppliers — lamb, duck, quail, pheasant, foie gras, elk, etc. — as well as local beer from Double Mountain and Burnside breweries, wine from Erath and distilled beverages from House Spirits.
Also on tap are cooking demos and a heated cooking competition featuring Portland chefs battling Seattle’s culinary talent. Matchups include: Jenn Louis of Lincoln and Sunshine Tavern (Portland) vs. Cormac Mahoney of Madison Park Conservancy (Seattle); Chris Israel of Grüner and Corazon (Portland) vs. Johnathan Sundstrom of Lark (Seattle); Chris Carriker of Gilt Club (Portland) vs. Carrie Mashaney of Spinasse (Seattle); and Gregory Gourdet of Departure (Portland) vs. Nathan Lockwood of Altura.
Following the main event, Wild About Game will present a wine dinner prepared Timberline’s executive chef, Jason Stoller Smith. The multi-course meal will highlight Nicky Farm’s rabbits, water buffalo and elk paired with Penner-Ash Wine Cellar wines. Both meat and wine producers will be on hand to mingle with guests.
Tickets for the main event are $50 and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets for the wine dinner are $150 (all-inclusive) can be purchased from Timberline Lodge by calling 800-547-1406.
