Southern Oregon in the Rose City

North meets south at this year’s Savor Southern Oregon, Sept. 16 at Director Park in Portland,  when four Portland chefs team up with the region’s farmers and fisherman to create unique, seasonal bites in the event’s new feature, the Farm to Fork Food Court.

“Not only do guests get to see these chefs at work, but they will also have an opportunity to meet and mingle with the farmers and fishermen who provided the ingredients — a true farm-to-table experience,” said Matthew Domingo, founder of Farm to Fork Company.

Featured culinary combos include: Troy MacLarty of Bollywood Theater with Willow Witt Ranch in Ashland; David Padberg of Park Kitchen with Port Orford Sustainable Seafood in Port Orford; Tyler Malek of Salt & Straw with Rogue Valley Brambles in Talent; and Aaron Woo of Natural Selection with Blue Fox Farm in Applegate.

The cuisine will be paired with a selection of more than 100 of the best wines unique to Southern Oregon, including Albariño, Viognier, Roussane, Tempranillo, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and other eclectic blends. Participating wineries include: Abacela, Agate Ridge, Bridgeview, Cliff Creek, Cowhorn, Daisy Creek, Delfino, Del Rio, EdenVale, Folin, Foris, Henry Estate, LaBrasseur, Melrose, Misty Oaks, Pyrenees, Quady North, Red Lily, RoxyAnn, Spangler, Troon, Valley View, Wooldridge Creek as well as Southern Oregon Wine Institute.

Guests can also sample gourmet cheeses, artisan chocolates and other specialty items from the some of the area’s most iconic purveyors, including Harry & David, Rogue Creamery, Gary West Meats and Noble Coffee.

The event will include wine education seminars, live music, a raffle to win a weekend getaway to Southern Oregon, logo wine glasses and more.

Director Park is located at 815 S.W. Park Avenue in Southwest Portland. Tickets cost $39 in advance and $50 at the door. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.savorsouthernoregon.com
