Wine Chemistry Workshop
This 1.5 day workshop of lectures and hands-on lab exercises in chemistry, brewing, and wine analysis. Dr. Gump will guide winemakers, enologists, lab assistants, etc., through the analyses and lab techniques necessary for a well-functioning wine lab.
DR. BARRY GUMP has over 30 years of experience in developing and teaching the techniques of wine analysis. He literally wrote the book on this topic. Earning his BS in Chemistry at The Ohio State University and his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Gump is also a Co-Principle Investigator and the Enology Coordinator for VESTA. Currently he is the first holder of the Harvey R. Chaplin Eminent Scholar’s Chair in Beverage Management at Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
