New Zealand-Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Showdown | Bluehour | Portland
Have you always wanted to taste New Zealand and Oregon Pinot Noirs side by side, but couldn’t make the commute? This is your chance to sample wines from each of these famed Pinot Noir-producing regions at an exquisite tasting event held in one convenient location. Don’t miss this private tasting experience where you’ll sample six Pinot Noirs from New Zealand and six Pinot Noirs from the Oregon’s Willamette Valley, plus a bonus blind tasting round to determine the winning country (that's 14 Pinot noirs!).
The event will include an informational panel discussion with New Zealanders Chad Douglas and Mike Eyres from Chehalem, Ray Walsh from Capitello, and Michael Davies from REX HILL. Also leading the discussion are Americans Jesse Lange from Lange Estate and Erik Kramer from Adelsheim Vineyard, both of whom have studied winemaking at Lincoln University in New Zealand. The panel will highlight the differences between winemaking and grape growing on opposite sides of the planet.
