Meet The Artist Vicki Poppin

A resident of Sherwood, Vicki Poppen has been a visual art ist for most of her life. A native of Oregon, Vicki grew up in the shad ow of Mt. Hood. The changing colors and beauty of the Hood River Valley inspired her to draw and paint her surroundings and her experiences. She has been involved in the arts for over 30 years, managing arts educati on programs and grants for the Regional Arts & Culture Council and the O regon Arts Commission. "When you ask elementary school children to raise their hands if they are an artist, all of them will raise their hands. I hope to always keep that attitude in everything I do. Their influence can be seen in how I paint!"
She now spends her time volunteering for the Sherwood Arts Commission, making art and gardening. "As with most p eople, creativity is a part of everything I do. Without this, life wou ld be so dull!"
