Groove Project
The Goove Project is a group that plays lots of different rhythms and styles. All of the members are jazz players but like to play much more than mainstream jazz. If it's got a backbeat and a groove, they'll do it - and will try to cover it in a way that's fresh and interesting. The Groove Project's repertoire ranges from straight ahead jazz to Brazilian bossa novas and sambas to blues to funky 70s pop stuff (Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Joe Cocker, Marvin Gaye), to more contemporary artists (Keb Mo, Alicia Keys), and even a few originals.
