Chinese Wine Tour Set

Well-known sites to be visited include The Great Wall, Terra cotta Warriors, The Ancient city of Pingyao, Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Participants can see these wonders with help from a professional photographer who shoots for magazines and clients world-wide. Besides these highlights, the tour also includes unique sites where few tourists visit. Miglavs describes one of these, the Yellow River Valley Canyon, as a mini Grand Canyon with vineyards right up to the edge. 

The tour will visit six Chinese wineries, including Chateau Changyu AFIP Global, an incongruous French chateau and village; Grace Vineyard, a wine oasis in the middle of a rural agricultural area; Bolongbao Winery, a smaller more intimate experience; Treaty Port, housed in a Scottish Castle on a hillside; Chateau Junding with its expansive vineyard estate and golf course; and Huadong-Parry winery, surrounded by a lush vineyards and mountain landscape. These are rare adventures, and a chance to visit with winemakers and to photograph workers during harvest, Miglavs said. Samples of some of the best and most unique wines China offers is an added bonus.

Miglavs’ wine background includes two wine-related books, the award-winning Oregon: The Taste of Wine, is one. He is currently working on two new book titles, including China: The New Wine Frontier.

All levels of wine connoisseurs, travelers and photographers are welcome. Photography instruction is appropriate for point-and shooters who want to make better use of mobile phone cameras, up to professionals who want to improve their craft while getting an insider’s perspective on China.
