Britt’s Bevs and Bites

Britt Festival in Jacksonville is steeped in history, but not stuck in the past.

Starting this season — its 49th — the venerable performing arts venue will finally offer as much variety in its wine, beer and food choices as its musical acts. And if all goes as planned, there will be a well-positioned patio area, named Table Rock City, in which to sit and eat before the show.

Although bottles from many Oregon wineries, including Valley View, will be for sale, much of the wine will come from reusable kegs. Wine from Wooldridge Creek, Troon and other wineries’ kegs will be sold by the glass or a bottle equivalent. The Britt will sell 750-milliliter refillable containers.

The 2011 concert season will be announced April 6.
