Amalie Robert - Earth Day Open House

Please join Dena and Ernie to celebrate Earth Day and the 18th anniversary of the vineyard at Amalie Robert Estate!

At the turn of the century a brave and hearty gathering of souls completed planting the first 10 acres of vines at Amalie Robert Estate. It just so happened that the final day of planting was Earth Day, so we recognize that dedication to the environment alongside our own anniversary celebration.

The big news for the weekend is that we will be releasing our 2014 Wadenswil Clone Pinot Noir (New A-List Release). For those of you who bought futures, this is the moment you have been waiting for. And, the 2014 growing season happened to coincide with our barrel numbering regime entering the 400 series. To be specific, barrel number 426 is the basis for our 2014 Wadenswil Clone Pinot Noir.

The resulting wine is a truly fitting exemplar to that moniker, as you can easily see the comparison of the spark plug orientation in the hemispherical combustion chamber to that of a wine barrel bung oriented in the upright TDC (Top Dead Center) position. Note: the BDC position is to be utilized for cleaning only. To complete your indoctrination, visit any Dodge dealer on National Hemi Day, April 26.

Once again we will be offering futures pricing on our 2015 Wadenswil Clone Pinot Noir. We will taste the wine from barrel this weekend after which the wine will be bottled and matured in the cellar for release on Earth Day 2018.

The 2016 Her Silhouette Chardonnay (New A-List Release): Bursting Sunflower radiates vivaciously setting the stage for an intense and unrelenting presentation of cool climate, stainless steel fermented, estate grown Oregon Chardonnay. Rich and concentrated unadorned flavors and textures envelope the palate and permeate the senses, framed by delineated acidity proving an enduring finish not soon to forget.

The 2016 Bellpine Pearl Rosé (Optional Release) is showing a bit more rouge this year thanks to a little extra effort by the Pinot Meunier. The 2016 blend favors Pinot Noir by roughly 3:1, however it is the skins of the Pinot Meunier that left their mark. Still, this wine continues to be made from the late to ripen wings of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. A rose by any other name…

Add in a few more bits and pieces and that is the show for Earth Day, 2017. The next winery Open House will be the weekend before Memorial Day where Ernie will reveal his 2016 G’wz to great fanfare and high acclaim! Please plan accordingly and fail to miss it.

The tasting fee is $15, refundable with a 2 bottle purchase per person. A-List members with up to 4 guests will enjoy a complimentary tasting. All case purchases (including mix and match) receive a 10% discount. (A-List members receive a 20% case discount.) And there is always a free cork in every bottle!
