Certified yoga instructor and sommelier Jennifer Cossey is leading a series of yoga classes, Draksavana (vineyard in Sanskrit) Yoga, through the remainder of the summer and into the first part of fall. They will take place in select vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley.
The experience includes a one-hour Hatha-style yoga class in the vineyard followed by a wine tasting.
“The marriage of wine and yoga, though not a traditional one, is a full experience of presence and a celebration of life and friendship,” Cossey said.
Vineyard locations include: WillaKenzie Estate (Sept. 3, 9 a.m.), Trisaetum (Sept. 10, 10 a.m.) and Archery Summit (Sept. 17, 9 a.m.).
The series will end with a yoga class and wine dinner, Oct. 1, at Deer Haven Farms Inn. Participants will help to gather food for the dinner from the Inn’s garden and help prepare the meal before sitting down for a family-style dinner under the stars.
Classes are $15 a student (special rates may apply). Space is very limited and reservations are required. All levels of students are welcome.
