All for the Kids
On Feb. 20, Carlton Together Cares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youth and community services to the greater Carlton area, will commence its seventh annual gala/auction event, Flavors of Carlton at Ken Wright Cellars.
Flavors of Carlton celebrates adventure, art, music, food and wine with small-town hospitality and a sense of community spirit.
This year’s wineries include: Belle Pente, Biggio Hamina, Cana’s Feast, Carlo & Julian, Elk Cove, Ghost Hill, Ken Wright, Luminous Hills/Seven of Hearts, Monksgate, Scott Paul, Soléna, Soter, Stag Hollow, Terra Vina, Torii Mor, Twelve and Tyrus Evan.
Featured chef Jason Stoller Smith of Dundee Bistro will be joined by chefs from Cielo Blu, Cucina at Cana’s Feast, Cuvée, Farm to Fork, Golden Valley, La Rambla, Nick’s Italian Café, The Painted Lady, Sweetest Thing, and Tina’s.
Special wine items for the auction will include a six-bottle vertical of Elk Cove Roosevelt Pinot Noir, 2002 through 2007, in a special, engraved box signed by Owner/Winemaker Adam Campbell. Another featured item is a collection of signed magnums of local Pinot Noirs, including Bishop Creek, Domaine Danielle Laurent, Lemelson, Scott Paul and Soter.
Art items from local artists include: Susan Day, James Dowlen, Roger Kukes, Lorrie Lewis, Cecelia McClellan, Linda Neff, Daryl Nelson, Terry Peasley, Doug Roy, Ruri, Jacquelyn Schroeder and others.
“The event’s modest price ($50) allows more individuals to fully participate in the auctions—nearly 100 silent and live auction items generously donated by local businesses represent tremendous quality and value,” said CTC President Edie Williams. “Large format wines, older vintages and verticals will be auctioned, along with winery tours, meals with renowned vintners, memory-making vacations, hot air balloon rides, adventure excursions and restaurant meals.”
